Woods is working alongside KiwiRail to develop the tools, systems, and support needed to deliver complex work packages throughout the Auckland rail network.
As part of the Rail Network Growth Impact Management (RNGIM) programme, KiwiRail sought a consulting partner with a collaborative approach and the agility to support a dynamic, large-scale infrastructure programme. Our role is to help plan and deliver the civil works component of the project, including:
Initial data capture using mobile laser scanning, aerial LiDAR, photogrammetry, and traditional topographic surveys
Use of our GIS platform to support planning and define work packages
Construction setouts and QA datasets
On-site support to ensure rail formation is built to design and within tolerance
Supporting the delivery and documentation of completed work
This is a large and evolving project, with shifting scope and complexity. The work delivered so far has been a success, and Woods continues to work closely with KiwiRail to refine workflows, streamline delivery, and provide high-quality spatial and civil engineering support.
